Mark 2:1-12 • Jesus and the Broken

Jun 29, 2025    Mel Hennegan

In this message from Mark 2:1–12, we encounter a dramatic story of healing—but even more, a confrontation between surface-level solutions and soul-level restoration. When a paralyzed man is lowered through the roof to meet Jesus, everyone expects physical healing. But Jesus surprises the crowd by offering forgiveness first. Why? Because He sees what we often miss: that our deepest brokenness isn’t in our bodies—it’s in our hearts. This sermon explores how Jesus, the Wonderful Counselor, not only heals our visible wounds but exposes and restores the root of our brokenness. Through His authority, compassion, and truth, we learn what it means to be truly made whole.
